Heart of Lions assistant coach, Daniel Nii Adjei, has admitted that his team’s performance fell short of what was needed to avoid defeat against Bechem United in their Ghana Premier League matchday 16 clash.

The Kpando-based side suffered a 3-0 loss at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday.

Speaking to the media after the game, the former Asante Kotoko midfielder acknowledged his team’s effort but conceded that it was not enough to match their opponents.

“We played very well despite the defeat. We conceded two late goals in the first half, but I think the boys did their best,” Adjei stated. “Just that, it wasn’t enough to win this game. We will work on our mistakes for subsequent games.”

Despite the setback, Heart of Lions remain at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings with 30 points from 16 matches.
