Ghana U-15 Boys Clinch Bronze at 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship
Ghana’s U-15 boys national team wrapped up their impressive campaign at the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC) with a thrilling comeback victory over Uganda in the third-place playoff match.
Coached by Kwaku Danso, the young Ghanaian side fought back from a goal down to seal a 2-1 win and secure the bronze medal at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Uganda, who were beaten by Senegal in the semifinals on Friday, April 25, started the brighter of the two sides. They broke through Ghana’s defence in the first half and went into the halftime break leading 1-0.
However, Ghana returned for the second half with renewed energy and determination. Two well-taken goals flipped the contest on its head, with the hosts eventually taking control and delighting the home crowd by clinching third place.
The victory was particularly significant as it marked Ghana’s first medal in the CAF African Schools Football Championship, having missed out on participation in the previous two editions.
Ghana’s performance at the tournament has been hailed as a promising sign for the future of youth football development in the country, with the team showing resilience, talent, and strong fighting spirit throughout the competition.
