Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has been appointed as the Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The announcement was made by CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, during a press conference held in Accra on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in Okraku’s rising influence within African football governance.

Okraku, who was elected unopposed to the CAF Executive Committee in March 2025, has now ascended even higher within the continental football hierarchy. His nomination for the Second Vice President role was put forward by Dr. Motsepe and subsequently approved by the CAF Executive Committee during their meeting in Accra.

He succeeds Mauritania’s Ahmed Yahya and joins Morocco’s Faouzi Lekjaa, who was also confirmed as the First Vice President of CAF, replacing Senegal FA President Augustin Senghor.

Okraku’s elevation reflects growing confidence in his leadership both at home and across Africa, following significant strides in Ghanaian football administration under his stewardship.

His new role is expected to further strengthen Ghana’s voice within African football, as CAF continues its push for greater reforms, improved competitions, and broader development initiatives across the continent.
