The epic clash which will hand Ghana qualification to the next African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, should they avoid defeat will be played in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Many Ghanaians are hoping to see the Black continue their dominance by making yet another appearance at the most prestigious tournament in Africa.

Ghana since, 2004 have appeared at every single AFCON tournament despite the fact that their performance has been abysmal in recent times.

Head coach of Ghana, Chris Hughton is expected to announce his squad for the encounter this week but would be without midfielder Majeed Ashimeru.

The Anderlecht key midfielder sustained an ankle injury last week in their Belgian Jupiler Pro League game against Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, which they lost 2-0.

He has already missed the last four league games and, is not expected to be back until at least after the international break.

Due to the injury, he will be missing in action for three weeks thus according to the club’s medical team. Majeed who has been phenomenal for the Belgian club will as a result of the injury, miss out in Black Stars squad.

And will not be part of the team to resume national team training on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
