Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential aspirants, George Akwesi Afriyie has slammed Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku for promising big after failing to deliver his earlier policies especially with the various national teams, regarding fixing the fundamentals.

According to the President of Division One League club Susubiribi FC, the GFA boss Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku is practicing “ma try ma kw3” with the fundamentals he claims he’s fixing. A promise that found way in his 2019 manifesto book.

Kurt told the clubs and all stakeholders of the Association he’s plans to ensure grassroots football(juvenile football) will be better as well as the national youth teams but the contrary is what is being experienced.

On Monday, July 10th 2023 in Kumasi, where the GFA’s 29th Ordinary Congress was held, the GFA President made some mouthwatering promises to the delegates as the next GFA presidential elections approaches. It is from that Congress, former GFA vice-president George Afriyie expanded the topic revealing that Kurt Okraku has already failed and has nothing more to offer if he was not able to deliver on his promises in 2019.

Substantiating Kurt fake promises, George Afriyie highlighted on the numerous changing of coaches at the National U-17 team and the Black Stars which has still not yielded better results yet keeps promising.

“So many promises where given and one that touched the heart of everybody which is fixing the fundamentals. Because, I building you will need to build on a solid platform to make it strong.

“So if Kurt says, he is fixing the fundamentals that would have being a good thing”

“Kurt in four-years has changed Black Stars coaches four times. So when I told you guys that, there is no time for “matr3 makwe” English translation (Try and Error), that is what he is doing. Keep changing managers at Black Stars, brought C.K Akonnor he failed, Milovan Rejevac, Otto Addo and now Chris Hughton”, Afriyie told the media at the Congress.

“In four-years, you can’t find your feet in your number brand which is the Black Stars.

“Same thing to the youth team U-17, he has changed four coaches within four years. So how, do you tackle the fundamentals when you keep changing managers at that level.

“It’s simple, doing try and error”

Meanwhile, George Afriyie has already confirmed his decision to run for the GFA Presidential elections when the doors are open for filing of nominations.
