Black Stars Set for Toronto Departure Ahead of Crucial Panama Clash
The Bkack Stars will leave their training base in Rhode Island on Monday as preparations enter the final phase ahead of their opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars have been camping in Providence since arriving from Virginia, with head coach Carlos Queiroz overseeing intensive sessions aimed at fine-tuning the squad before the tournament begins in earnest.
With just days remaining before Ghana’s Group L opener, the team is expected to travel to Toronto, where attention will shift fully to their showdown against Panama. The encounter represents a crucial first step in the Black Stars’ quest to secure a place in the knockout rounds of the competition.
Upon arrival in Canada, Ghana will hold an official training session at BMO Field on Tuesday, allowing the players to familiarize themselves with the venue before matchday.
The fixture against the Central American side is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at BMO Field, with kick-off set for 11:00 p.m GMT.
The Black Stars head into the tournament carrying the hopes of a football-loving nation and are eager to make a strong start against Panama before taking on England and Croatia in their remaining group-stage matches.
