Black Stars defender Abdul Baba Rahman has assured Ghanaians that the national team is fully committed to giving its all at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as preparations continue for the tournament in North America.

Ghana will begin its Group L campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England and Croatia in what promises to be a challenging route to the knockout stage.

The four-time African champions are making their fifth appearance at the global showpiece after securing qualification for the expanded tournament being hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

With anticipation building among supporters, Baba Rahman has called for continued backing from fans while stressing the determination within the squad to represent the nation with pride.

“We thank Ghanaians for the support and prayers. We are going to fight to make Ghanaians proud at the tournament,” he told AshesGyamera.

The experienced left-back is among several members of the squad who have previously featured at the World Cup and will be expected to play an important role as Ghana seeks to make a strong impression on the international stage.

The Black Stars enter the competition aiming to reach the knockout rounds for the first time since their historic run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the nation’s best performance at the tournament.

After group-stage exits in both 2014 and 2022, hopes are high that the current squad can deliver a more successful campaign under head coach Carlos Queiroz.

With the countdown to the opening fixture against Panama continuing, the message from Baba Rahman reflects the mood within the camp—one of determination, belief and a desire to reward the faith of Ghanaian supporters around the world.
