The Ghana Football Association has cautioned football fans and the general public against engaging with a company accused of offering unauthorised FIFA World Cup 2026 ticketing and hospitality services.

The warning follows a formal complaint lodged by FIFA’s legal representatives concerning the activities of Match Experience Hospitality (MEH), a company operating from Labone in Accra.

According to information communicated to the GFA by the world football governing body, MEH has allegedly been advertising and selling World Cup ticket packages, hospitality services and travel-related products without obtaining the necessary approval or accreditation from FIFA or its authorised commercial partners.

As FIFA’s affiliate member in Ghana, the GFA said it had been requested to alert the public and relevant stakeholders to the issue and advise supporters to exercise caution before making any payments or commitments through the company.

The Association stressed that any individual choosing to transact business with the company or its affiliated platforms does so entirely at their own risk.

FIFA has reportedly classified the activities as a potential case of ambush marketing, warning that such practices could mislead football supporters while undermining the integrity of its official commercial programmes linked to the tournament.

The matter has also attracted the attention of law enforcement authorities. FIFA is said to have submitted a petition to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service requesting a formal investigation into the company’s activities.

In light of the development, the GFA has advised supporters planning to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup to obtain tickets, hospitality packages and related services only through FIFA’s official channels and approved partners.

“The GFA reiterates its commitment to protecting the integrity of football operations in Ghana,” the Association stated.

The governing body further assured football fans that it would continue to collaborate with FIFA and relevant authorities to safeguard the interests of supporters and ensure transparency in all football-related commercial activities.

With anticipation building ahead of the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the GFA is urging the public to remain vigilant and verify the legitimacy of any ticketing or hospitality provider before making financial commitments.
