Salim Adams has expressed excitement after receiving his maiden invitation to the Black Stars ahead of the upcoming international friendly against Mexico.

The Medeama SC midfielder is one of six Ghana Premier League players selected by new head coach Carlos Queiroz as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Adams has been one of the standout performers in the domestic league this season, contributing 11 goals and one assist in the 2025/26 campaign. His impressive displays have played a major role in Medeama’s strong run and ultimately earned him recognition at national team level.

The former Accra Hearts of Oak player admitted the call-up represents a major milestone in his career and motivation to keep improving.

“I feel very excited getting Black Stars callup. It is a very big step for me to keep working hard,” he said.

“I hope to achieve more and getting more opportunities outside.”

Adams is expected to be part of the squad that faces Mexico on May 22, a fixture that could offer him the opportunity to make his senior debut for Ghana.
