Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has showered praise on substitute Mawuli Wayo, whose late brace secured a thrilling 3-2 victory against Accra Lions in a pulsating Ghana Premier League encounter.

Wayo entered the match in the second half with Hearts trailing 2-1 after conceding two quick goals in the 52nd and 73rd minutes.

The dynamic forward turned the tide with two decisive strikes in the 81st and 84th minutes, ensuring the Phobians emerged victorious in the tightly contested match.

Speaking after the game, Coach Ouattara highlighted Wayo’s game-changing impact and applauded the contributions of other substitutes, including Martin Karikari.

“We couldn’t make it initially, and Wayo came in along with Karikari and other players. They changed the game and ensured we took the three points. That’s the important thing,” Ouattara stated.

Hearts are 6th with 25 points on the league table.
