Interim head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, Nana Yaw Amankwah, has lauded his players for their impressive display in the 2–2 draw against Hearts of Oak in the Week 7 Ghana Premier League encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Gold Stars showed determination and tactical discipline to earn a vital away point against one of the league’s giants on Saturday afternoon, a result Amankwah believes reflects the team’s steady progress under his guidance.

“Our boys are now picking very well, and we know we are going to do well in this game and no wonder we did well,”
he said after the match.

The Bibiani-based side went toe-to-toe with the Phobians throughout the encounter, recovering well each time they fell behind. Amankwah explained that a tactical adjustment in the second half was key to their comeback.

“In the second half, we changed the strategy because we knew we could break them. We knew they were weak in the counterattack, and we took advantage of that,”
he added.

Amankwah expressed confidence that his side is on the right trajectory and promised continued improvement as the season unfolds, noting that consistency and discipline will be central to Gold Stars’ ambitions in the 2025/26 campaign.
