Accra Lions Technical Director Ibrahim Tanko has shared his thoughts on his team’s narrow 3-2 loss to Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League clash.

Despite the disappointment, Tanko commended his players for their effort and vowed to address the team’s shortcomings.

“I think we started very well until the time they scored, and it was a very tough game for us today,” Tanko acknowledged. “In the end, I think they deserved to win more than us.”

While Tanko expressed dissatisfaction with the result, he noted that the team’s overall performance was commendable.

“I’m disappointed in the scoreline, but in terms of the performance, I think they did very well. We have to go and do our homework for the next game against Dreams FC.”

Tanko emphasized the importance of taking chances in the Premier League, highlighting the need for his team to improve their finishing.

“We have learnt that we have to score. If you score one and the chance comes, you have to score again. In the Premier League, you need to score more goals to win.”

He added, “Scoring just one goal puts you under pressure, so definitely we are going to work on it.”

Accra Lions fans will be hoping for a strong response as the team looks to bounce back from the defeat and reignite their league campaign.
