Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has delivered a passionate rallying cry ahead of Ghana’s highly anticipated FIFA World Cup showdown against England, insisting his team will draw strength from the support of an entire nation as they battle for top spot in Group L.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference in Boston, the Portuguese tactician stressed that Tuesday’s encounter should not be viewed through the lens of history or past meetings, but rather as a contest between two proud footballing nations determined to impose their identity on the game.

With both teams entering the fixture on three points following opening victories, Queiroz believes Ghana’s greatest weapon will be their unity, discipline and national pride.

The veteran coach emphasized that his players understand the responsibility that comes with representing Ghana on the world stage and are prepared to fight for every ball against one of the tournament favourites.

Queiroz dismissed any notion that England would be the only side chasing victory, insisting the Black Stars will approach the match with the same ambition and determination.

“They’re going to try to win. We’re going to do exactly the same during 90 minutes with the same spirit, with the same fighting attitude,” he said.

The former Real Madrid manager explained that while results are important, his biggest expectation is to see his players leave the pitch having given everything for the country.

“At the end of the game, what is important for me is that when the game finishes, my players come out with their heads up and make the fans proud of them.”

He continued by highlighting the significance of wearing the national colours at a World Cup.

“They play for the prestige and the reputation of the country. When they come, they must be proud of themselves, of their families, of their friends, of the shirt they wear.”

Queiroz also underlined the emotional backing behind his squad, declaring that Ghana’s strength extends far beyond the players on the pitch.

According to the coach, the Black Stars carry the hopes of millions of supporters who will be behind them throughout the contest.

He concluded with a message of faith and humility ahead of the decisive encounter.

“We leave the results in the hands of God.”

Ghana head into the clash boosted by their dramatic 1-0 victory over Panama, while England arrive following an entertaining win over Croatia. With first place in Group L potentially at stake, the Boston showdown promises to be one of the standout matches of the World Cup group stage.
