Ghanaian midfielder Baba Iddrisu has been dealt a major blow, as the UD Almeria star is set to miss the remainder of the 2024/25 football season following a significant knee injury.

The 28-year-old suffered a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during training last week.

UD Almeria’s head of medical personnel, Sebastián Jiménez, confirmed that Iddrisu will require surgery to repair the damaged ACL. However, the surgery will be delayed for approximately four to five weeks to allow the midfielder to recover from the lateral ligament sprain first.

“The suspicions we had are now real, and after consulting with several specialists, we have agreed that Baba will have to undergo surgery,” Jiménez stated in an interview with the club’s official radio station, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. “But he first has to recover from the sprained internal lateral ligament.” He added.

This marks a significant setback for both Iddrisu and UD Almeria. The midfielder had been a pivotal figure for the Spanish side, making 10 league appearances this season in the Segunda División.
