Ghana have been handed a timely boost ahead of their crucial FIFA World Cup Group L clash against England after midfielder Thomas Partey confirmed he is fit and available for selection.

The experienced Villarreal midfielder is back in contention after missing the Black Stars’ opening 1-0 victory over Panama due to visa and immigration issues that prevented him from entering Canada before the tournament began.

Despite his absence, Ghana secured all three points thanks to a dramatic late winner from Caleb Yirenkyi, putting the Black Stars in a strong position heading into one of the biggest matches of the group stage.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s encounter, Partey revealed that he is fully recovered and eager to make his first appearance of the tournament.

“For me, now I feel okay. I’m ready to play,” he said.

The return of the deputy captain is expected to significantly strengthen Ghana’s midfield as they prepare to face an England side packed with world-class talent and widely considered among the favourites to win the tournament.

Partey’s experience and leadership have been central to Ghana’s recent campaigns, and his availability offers head coach Carlos Queiroz an important option for a fixture that could have a major impact on qualification from Group L.

While much of the build-up has focused on the prospect of a midfield contest involving England stars such as Declan Rice, Partey emphasized that Ghana’s success will depend on collective effort rather than individual battles.

After opening their campaign with victory over Panama, Ghana know another positive result against England would greatly enhance their chances of reaching the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.

The highly anticipated encounter will take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with both teams aiming to take a significant step towards qualification for the Round of 32.
