The Black Queens are set to return to training later on Monday ahead of their decisive 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt, following the resolution of a two-day player strike over unpaid bonuses.

According to JoySports sources, the standoff was brought to an end after a crucial meeting between Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku and the team at their hotel in Accra on Monday morning.

The discussions were reportedly aimed at addressing the tension between the players and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which stemmed from outstanding bonuses from their previous WAFCON campaign.

Following the talks, the team’s leadership reached an agreement to suspend the industrial action and resume full training ahead of Tuesday’s return leg fixture.

The development brings relief to the technical team and fans, as Ghana look to seal qualification for next year’s WAFCON in Morocco.

The Black Queens head into the second leg with a 3-0 advantage from the first encounter in Ismailia, leaving them well placed to progress to the final qualifying round.

Training is expected to take place later today, with the squad focusing on tactical drills and recovery sessions to finalize preparations for the crucial clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
