Nations FC Edge Aduana to Reach MTN FA Cup Final
Nations FC have booked their place in the final of this season’s MTN FA Cup after securing a narrow victory over Aduana FC in a tightly contested semi-final clash.
The two Ghana Premier League sides faced off at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Friday, with both teams showing intent early on in a bid to keep their cup ambitions alive. However, it was Nations FC who made the decisive breakthrough in the opening exchanges.
Emmanuel Annor proved the difference-maker, striking in just the seventh minute to hand the Abrankese-based side an early advantage. His pace and directness caused problems throughout the game, as Nations FC looked the more threatening side in attack.
Aduana FC attempted to respond but struggled to impose themselves, particularly after the break. Despite enjoying spells of possession, they found it difficult to create clear-cut chances, with Nations FC maintaining a disciplined defensive shape to protect their lead.
The contest ultimately remained finely balanced, but Annor’s early goal stood as the winner, sending Nations FC into the final of the competition.
They will now await the outcome of the second semi-final between Dreams FC and Medeama SC, scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at the same venue.
