Medeama Sporting Club have been cited for misconduct under the Ghana Premier League Regulations, 2025, following their opening-day clash with Young Apostles.

According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the defending champions allegedly failed to comply with the rule requiring all players to have their names printed on the back of their jerseys during the match.

The Yellow and Mauves have been directed to provide a formal response to the charge by Wednesday, September 17.

Despite the administrative setback, Medeama began the season on a high, securing a 2-0 victory over Young Apostles. Emmanuel Owusu’s first-half strike and Paul Yeboah’s second-half finish sealed the win, lifting Medeama to the top of the table after the first round of fixtures.

The positive start is expected to serve as a morale booster for the Tarkwa-based side as they prepare to host Vision FC at the TNA Park in their Week 2 encounter.
