Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara, has revealed his determination to finish the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season on a high as his side prepares to face FC Samartex on the final matchday.

The Phobians, who have endured a mixed campaign, showed signs of resilience and growth under Ouattara’s leadership, particularly with a crucial 2-0 victory over relegated Legon Cities on Sunday. The win elevated Hearts of Oak into contention for a top-four finish, and the head coach is now hoping to end the season with back-to-back wins.

Speaking to journalists after the game, Ouattara emphasized the importance of the final fixture, viewing it not only as an opportunity to secure points but also as a stepping stone for next season.

“We have another match next Sunday against Samartex. It will be one of the toughest matches. We will need the points to assess and project ourselves into the next season,” Coach Ouattara stated.

Under his guidance, Hearts of Oak have gradually recovered from mid-season instability and now look forward to rounding off their campaign with a home win in front of their supporters.

The decisive clash between Hearts of Oak and FC Samartex is set to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 8. A win could see the Phobians finish among the league’s top four, laying a solid foundation for the 2025/26 season.
