Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is counting on the tactical acumen of his assistant, Desmond Ofei, as Ghana prepares for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

Ofei, who guided Ghana’s U-20 team to gold at the 2023 African Games, brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight to the senior national team setup. Addo has praised his assistant’s contribution, emphasizing the value of his expertise.

“Desmond has done a very good job with the under-20s,” Addo said. “He’s bringing in his experience from working with national teams, and he’s very, very supportive.”

With Ghana aiming to recover from recent setbacks and push for World Cup qualification, Addo believes Ofei’s tactical input will play a key role in shaping the team’s approach.

The Black Stars will take on Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24. Addo is optimistic that Ofei’s influence will help the team secure vital victories and keep their World Cup hopes alive.
