Kudus Faces World Cup Doubt After Fresh Injury Blow

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus is facing an anxious wait over his availability for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a new injury setback that could sideline him for months.

The forward had been working towards a return after suffering a serious quad tendon injury earlier this year during a match for Tottenham Hotspur against Sunderland in January. At the time, there was optimism that his recovery was progressing well.

However, the situation has since taken a turn for the worse. Kudus has not resumed full training with Tottenham and is now understood to have aggravated the injury, raising serious concerns about his fitness.

Reports indicate the 25-year-old may require surgery after scans revealed a fresh problem, compounding fears that he could miss the remainder of the season. His participation in Ghana’s World Cup campaign in June is now in significant doubt.

Before the setback, Kudus had been an important figure for Spurs, contributing nine goal involvements across 24 appearances in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

With time running out ahead of the global tournament, Ghana could be forced to prepare for life without one of their most influential attacking players, should his recovery fail to meet the required timeline.
