The Black Queens of Ghana are set to take on the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal for the second time in a high-profile international friendly on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, as part of their ongoing nine-day training tour in Senegal.

The friendly series forms a crucial part of the team’s preparation ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to be held in Morocco.

In their first meeting, Ghana edged Senegal with a hard-fought 1-0 victory, thanks to a well-placed header from Evelyn Badu. The Queens were reduced to ten players after Anasthesia Achiaa was shown a red card, but they displayed impressive resilience and tactical discipline to maintain their lead and secure the win.

The upcoming second leg, which promises to be another competitive outing, is scheduled for 5:00 PM GMT at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thies, Senegal.

With both teams using the friendlies as tune-up matches for the continental showpiece, intensity and tactical battles are expected to define the contest.

Senegal, keen to avenge their narrow defeat, will likely come into the match with renewed energy and a refined game plan.
