Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has expressed his delight after delivering a stellar performance to inspire LA Galaxy to a commanding 5-2 victory over Club Tijuana in the opening round of the Leagues Cup on Friday.

The Black Stars winger was in sensational form at the Dignity Health Sports Park, playing the full 90 minutes and contributing two goals and an assist in a thrilling encounter.

“It’s a great feeling. Missing a penalty is something that can affect a player but I’m really strong in situation like that. The most important thing is the victory. I thank God for the win and the two goals as well,” Paintsil said after the game.

Since returning from injury, Paintsil has been a key figure for LA Galaxy, registering four goals and one assist in 17 Major League Soccer appearances, and now adding a goal in the Leagues Cup.

His form will be a huge boost for both club and country as he continues to establish himself as one of Ghana’s top attacking assets on the international stage.
