Technical Director of Asante Kotoko SC, James Akwasi Appiah after watching his side train for the first time at their training base at Beposo, expressed satisfaction and confidence in the team ahead of start of new season.

Last season, Asante Kotoko SC due to several factors including dugout failed to defend their Premiership title but managed to finish fourth after the last fixture of the season. Despite, dissolving the 12-member board and management team to set up an Interim Management Committee (IMC), are hopeful of putting up a better performance.

Life Patron of Asante Kotoko SC, Otumfou Osei Tutu II appointed a three member team of Interim management committee to run the club activities for now. As it lead to the appointment of Ghanaian gaffer Prosper Narteh Ogum as new manager.

Former Black Stars boss James Akwasi Appiah is handed the technical director role and hopeful of a marvelous season.

The team begun preseason last week at Beposo expected to sharpen their equipments for the 2023-2024 league season.

Akwasi Appiah after observing the players training, is quiet impressed and sure they would translate into the league proper.

“I have seen the aggressiveness during the training session and I am impressed”

“However, we are looking forward to seeing it in matches. We have total believe in you and we hope that you end the season very well”, he said.

Kotoko will kick-start the season with game against debutants Kpando Hearts of Lions at home before away game to Bibiani against GoldStars SC.
