Ghanaian forward Joseph Amoako has left Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko SC after two-years stint.

Amoako, 20, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in October 1, 2021 has terminated his contract with the Ghana Premier League record holder’s (25), despite having contract running.

He made a move to the Reds from Young Red Bull FC based in Cape Coast on a three-year contract, meaning he had a year left in his contract but opted to terminate and walk away.

In March 2023, Joseph Amoako returned to Asante Kotoko SC after his release from prison in Sweden earlier in February.

He went on a season-long loan deal at relegated Swedish Allsvenskan club Helsingborgs IF, and was reportedly found guilty of the statutory rape of a minor in Sweden and sentenced to two years in jail.

The youngster was detained in Swedish Police custody in November 2022 for court trial after being charged of engaging in sexual affairs with a minor.

Helsingborgs IF cancelled his loan deal due to the rape allegations before the contract expired in January 2023 per the agreement with his parent club, Asante Kotoko SC.

The Helsingborgs District Court initially found the budding talented winger guilty on two counts and handed him a 24-month jail term but the player was freed from the charges after an appeal.

He now exit the Reds after two years, hoping to join a club in Ghana before transfer deadline on September 01.
