New Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has outlined his vision for the club, promising to assemble a team capable of competing for honours both in Ghana and across Africa.

The experienced South African tactician was recently appointed to lead the Porcupine Warriors into the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season as the club embarks on a fresh chapter under new technical leadership.

Speaking after officially taking charge, Tinkler expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge ahead and stressed his determination to restore Kotoko to the summit of Ghanaian and continental football.

The former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United manager said success would only come through a collective effort involving the players, coaching staff and club management.

“I look forward to working with the players, staff, and management to build a team that can compete and win, both at home and on the continental stage,” Tinkler said.

The 55-year-old arrives in Kumasi with an impressive coaching pedigree, having managed some of South Africa’s biggest clubs, including Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, Cape Town City, Maritzburg United and Bidvest Wits.

During his career, Tinkler guided Orlando Pirates to the CAF Champions League final and later led SuperSport United to the CAF Confederation Cup final, while also winning several domestic cup competitions.

His appointment is seen as a major statement of intent by Kotoko, who are eager to return to consistent title contention after falling short of expectations in recent seasons.
