Medeama SC’s quest to return to winning ways in the CAF Champions League hit a snag as they suffered defeat to Young Africans on Wednesday afternoon.

The Ghana Premier League were handed a humiliating 3-0 loss to the Tanzanian side with forward Jonathan Sowah also being sent off in the game.

The home side opened the scoring in the fixture after 33 minutes, finding a way past the resilient Ghanaian side. Khalid Aucho set up Pacome Zouzoua for the first goal of the game.

Medeama failed to grab the equaliser before the break as Yanga took the lead to recess.

Ten minutes into the second half, Sowah had the opportunity to draw Medeama level but the striker failed to convert from the penalty box.

Yanga doubled the lead six minutes after the penalty miss with Bakari Nondo netting the second of the day while Mudathir Yahya put the game beyond the reach of Medeama with a third.

Things moved from bad to worse for the away side who saw Sowah pick up a second yellow card followed by red in the 90th minute of the clash.

Defeat to Yanga leaves Medeama bottom of Group D with just four points from four games with games against CR Belouizdad and Al Ahly still to come.
