Black Satellites to Face Hosts Egypt in 2025 U-20 AFCON Quarter-Final Clash
Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, will face a stern test against host nation Egypt in the quarter-finals of the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The much-anticipated showdown is scheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Suez Stadium, with kick-off set for 18:00 GMT.
After an impressive showing in the group stage, Coach Desmond Ofei’s side topped Group C with seven points. The Black Satellites opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against DR Congo before narrowly defeating both Senegal and the Central African Republic with identical 1-0 victories.

Their solid performances have earned them a place among the final eight of the tournament, setting up a high-stakes clash with an Egyptian side that has looked equally formidable on home soil.
The quarter-final lineup also features several tantalizing fixtures:
-
South Africa vs. DR Congo
-
Nigeria vs. Senegal
-
Morocco vs. Sierra Leone
Ghana, four-time winners of the U-20 AFCON, are looking to reclaim continental glory and secure a place in the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year. A win against Egypt would take them one step closer to that goal.
