Jordan Ayew Credits Teammates After Extending Goal Contributions for Black Stars
Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has credited his teammates, technical staff, and the Ghana Football Association for their continuous support following his latest goal contribution in Ghana’s 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The experienced forward, who found the net once again in Wednesday’s emphatic win, has now been directly involved in 14 goals during the qualification campaign — scoring 7 goals and providing 7 assists.
Speaking to Kobby Stonne on Adom FM’s Sports Page 2, Ayew humbly downplayed individual praise, insisting that his form is the result of the team’s collective effort.
“I don’t usually want to talk about myself because if it is not my teammates that have been pushing me and supporting me, I wouldn’t be able to perform. So I just want to thank my teammates, the staff, and the federation,” he said.
Ayew’s consistency and leadership have been vital in Ghana’s impressive run, as the Black Stars continue their push for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
The team will look to build on their momentum when they face Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in their final Group I qualifier.
