Bawa Fuseini elated about CAA Award

Bawah Fuseini, President of Ghana Athletics, has expressed deep gratitude after being named the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Leader of the Year 2024.

This prestigious recognition comes in light of his exceptional leadership and organizational prowess during the 13th All-Africa Games hosted by Ghana in March 2024.

Fuseini described the award as a collective achievement for Ghana and a call to elevate athletics in the country to even greater heights.

“This award is not just for me but for Ghana Athletics as a whole. We are glad that the CAA has recognised the work we are doing in Ghana,” he told Joy Sports.

Fuseini highlighted the collaborative effort that led to the successful hosting of the athletics events during the 13th All-Africa Games in March 2024. He acknowledged the roles of various stakeholders in making the games an unforgettable success.

“Individually, this Excellence Award is a call to duty. I want to thank the CAA, Ghana Athletics, the Sports Ministry, the NSA, the media, and all Ghanaians for their crucial role during the African Games. They made it a success.” He added.

Under Fuseini’s stewardship, Ghana Athletics has not only enhanced its reputation in Africa but also laid the groundwork for future successes.
