The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has thrown his weight behind Asante Kotoko, commending the team’s readiness ahead of their much-anticipated 2025 President’s Cup clash with eternal rivals Hearts of Oak.

The two Ghanaian giants are set to lock horns at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, July 6, in a match that promises high drama, passion, and pride. The President’s Cup, held annually in honour of Ghana’s sitting president, remains one of the biggest fixtures on the local football calendar.

As part of preparations, Dr. Amoakohene paid a visit to Kotoko’s training grounds to assess the team’s readiness and boost morale ahead of the titanic encounter. After observing the team’s training session, the Regional Minister expressed strong confidence in both the players and technical team.

“They are ready, and from all indications, even if the match were played today, they would make us proud. I want to take this opportunity to thank the technical team for holding the fort and constantly preparing the boys for games of this nature,” he said.

Dr. Amoakohene stressed the importance of collective support, noting that success on the pitch stems not only from player performance but also the unity and dedication of the entire technical setup.

“The support we are providing is not just for the players, but also for the technical team. We want them all to feel equally motivated, work together as one unit, and secure victory on Sunday,” he added.

Asante Kotoko will be hoping to lift the prestigious trophy and lay down a marker ahead of the 2025/26 season, while also reaffirming their status as one of Ghana’s most decorated and resilient football clubs.
