Alhaji Karim Grusah Calls for Overhaul of GFA Leadership
Veteran football administrator and owner of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Karim Grusah, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of Ghana football, calling for the removal of Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku and his administration.
Grusah’s comments reflect growing frustration among stakeholders and fans, who have criticized the administration for the declining standards of Ghana football.
Speaking on Sportsnite on Asempa FM, Grusah criticized the Black Stars’ performance in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, where Ghana finished at the bottom of a group containing Niger, Sudan, and Angola and ultimately failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025.
“How can Ghana be at the bottom of an AFCON group which has Niger, Sudan, and Angola? This is unacceptable,” Grusah said.
He urged the government to take bold steps in addressing the challenges facing Ghana football by replacing the GFA leadership.
“If the government wants to help Ghana football, then they must sack Kurt Okraku and the entire GFA. FIFA cannot punish us for taking them out of power. We need to be honest with ourselves,” he stated.
Grusah believes a comprehensive overhaul is necessary to restore Ghana’s footballing pride and competitiveness on the international stage.
Ghana will now focus on the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March where they will lock horns with Chad and Madagascar.
