Veteran football administrator and owner of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Karim Grusah, has called for the appointment of Nii Lante Vanderpuye as Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports.

The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama is yet to appoint a Minister for the newly created Sports and Recreation Ministry.

With a lot of names in the public space in context to who should be appointed as the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Alhaji Grusah believes Nii Lante Vanderpuye will be the right man for the job.

Grusah believes that Vanderpuye’s deep understanding of sports and his previous tenure as Sports Minister make him the ideal candidate to revive Ghana’s struggling football sector.

“We all saw the good works of Nii Lante Vanderpuye when he became Sports Minister,” Grusah remarked during an interview. “At a point in time, President Kuffour even wanted to appoint him as Sports Minister. He is a football person, a former sports commentator, and a former sports minister.”

Grusah emphasized that Vanderpuye’s extensive background in sports and football administration is what Ghana needs to restore its football to its former glory.

“I think he should be appointed the Sports Minister so that our football can find its lost glory,” he added.

Nii Lante Vanderpuye, a former seasoned sports journalist and former MP, served as Ghana’s Sports Minister during the John Mahama administration, earning praise for his proactive approach and bold decisions.
