Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has acknowledged the significant challenge ahead as his side prepares for a high-stakes Ghana Premier League showdown against Bibiani GoldStars on Sunday, May 25.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to travel to the DUN’s Park for their Matchday 32 clash, with both teams still mathematically in the hunt for the 2024/25 league title.

With just three games left in the campaign, every fixture now carries immense weight, and Zito is under no illusions about the task at hand.

Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, the former national youth coach paid glowing tribute to the quality of their hosts.

“The approach will be very serious, but we should admit it; we are going to meet one of the best teams in the league on Sunday,” Zito stated.

“They are very good and they have more advantage by playing at home, so it doubles our task in meeting them, so we are preparing towards that.”

Since assuming the Kotoko job earlier this year, Zito has overseen an impressive resurgence, with the team yet to taste defeat under his leadership. However, the away trip to Bibiani presents a stern test, especially with GoldStars boasting one of the best home records in the division.

Kotoko currently sit within striking distance of the top spot, and a win on Sunday could significantly bolster their chances of clinching the league title. GoldStars, on the other hand, are determined to secure a strong finish to what has been a commendable campaign.

Kick-off for the clash is scheduled for 15:00 GMT at the always energetic DUN’s Park. Fans of both sides will be hoping for a spectacle as the title race reaches a fever pitch.
