GPL Change of venue: Hearts of Oak to Face Nations FC at Tuba Astroturf

Hearts of Oak will play their Ghana Premier League clash against Nations FC at the Tuba Astroturf on Wednesday after being denied access to the Accra Sports Stadium by the National Sports Authority (NSA).

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) had initially scheduled the match for the Accra Sports Stadium but did so without securing formal approval from the NSA.

Hearts of Oak have struggled to secure a consistent home ground this season. Since September 2024, they have been hosting matches at the University of Ghana Stadium after the Accra Sports Stadium was deemed unfit.

However, their temporary venue has also been shut down to undergo renovations ahead of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, scheduled for April 21-26, 2025.

With their options limited, Hearts of Oak have turned to the Tuba Astroturf, a significantly smaller venue compared to their usual home grounds.

While the switch poses logistical challenges, the Phobians will have no choice but to adapt as they continue their campaign in the Ghana Premier League.
