“We have to hope and work”- Gideon Mensah on Ghana’s qualification chances
Black Stars left back, Gideon Mensah says the focus of the team is to win all two games left and hope other nations drop points to help Ghana qualify for the AFCON 2025.
Ghana will lock horns with Angola on Friday in Luanda before playing a home fixture against Niger in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The four-time African Champions currently sit third in Group F with 2 points. Ghana will have to beat Angola and Niger and hope that Sudan loses to Niger and Angola. Gideon Mensah says the team will be monitoring Sudan’s games.
“We are made for this; the journey is always not going to be smooth. We have come to the junction where we have to hope and then work for ourselves. We are going to watch their game and see what is going to happen. At the end of the day, the focus is to win our six points.” He said.
The Black Stars have started training and fly to Angola on Wednesday for the crucial game.G
