Ghana’s football community will pause this weekend to honour the memory of Dominic Frimpong, following directives from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ahead of key domestic fixtures.

The governing body has outlined a series of tributes to be observed during matches involving clubs competing in the MTN FA Cup semi-finals as well as the Women’s Premier League final. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to commemorate the late Berekum Chelsea forward, whose passing has sent shockwaves across the local game.

In an official communication, the GFA confirmed that players and technical staff across the designated fixtures will wear black armbands as a symbol of mourning. Additionally, a minute of silence will be observed prior to kickoff in each match.

The Association urged all participating clubs, match officials and supporters to uphold the solemnity of the moment and ensure the tributes are carried out with the respect they deserve.

Frimpong, who was on loan from Aduana FC, is being remembered not only for his contributions on the pitch but also for the promise he showed as a young talent in the Ghana Premier League.

The GFA also acknowledged the cooperation of stakeholders, emphasizing unity within the football fraternity as the country continues to grieve and pay its respects to the fallen player.
