Ghana’s Joseph Aidoo Joins Real Valladolid on Loan from Celta Vigo
Real Valladolid have completed the signing of Ghanaian international defender Joseph Aidoo on a loan deal from RC Celta Vigo until the end of the 2024/25 La Liga season.
The move offers Aidoo, 28, a crucial chance to regain form and secure regular playing time after enduring a difficult campaign at Celta, where he was sidelined for months due to injury and made just a one-minute appearance this season.
Valladolid, currently battling relegation, hope the experienced centre-back will fortify their defense as they push to secure their top-flight status.

Aidoo began his European career in 2015 with Swedish side Hammarby before moving to Belgian club KRC Genk in 2017. His impressive displays in Belgium earned him a move to Celta Vigo in 2019, where he established himself as a key figure in the club’s backline.
With 131 LaLiga appearances and three goals to his name, Aidoo’s defensive solidity and aerial ability could prove crucial in Valladolid’s survival battle.
With Valladolid in need of defensive reinforcements, Aidoo’s experience and leadership will be valuable in their quest to stay in La Liga. The Ghanaian will be looking to reignite his career and make an immediate impact for his new club.
