Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has stressed the importance of preparation over speculation as he embarks on the next chapter of his career with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

The 25-year-old right-back, who recently joined QPR after leaving Italian outfit Fiorentina, says he is concentrating on controlling what he can rather than worrying about the uncertainties that come with professional football.

Speaking about his approach to the game and his career, Lamptey explained that success comes from hard work and readiness rather than trying to predict the future.

“You can’t really predict what’s going to happen, but you can only put your best foot forward and prepare as well as possible. And that’s what I try to do,” Lamptey said.

The Ghana defender returns to English football determined to rediscover the form that made him one of the Premier League’s most exciting full-backs during his time at Brighton & Hove Albion.

After an injury-hit spell in Italy, Lamptey is aiming for a fresh start at Loftus Road, where he hopes to establish himself as a key figure in QPR’s push for a successful Championship campaign.
