Sports Minister Visits GOC, Pledges Stronger Partnership for Sports Development
The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Ghana Olympic Committee following a working visit to the committee’s headquarters in Accra.
The minister was welcomed by the board of the GOC Richard Akpokavie at the Olympic House, where discussions centered on the development and promotion of sports across the country.
During the meeting, the Olympic body also used the opportunity to make a contribution to the Ghana Sports Fund as part of efforts to support initiatives aimed at advancing sports in Ghana.

Hon. Adams commended the GOC for its role in promoting Olympic sports and pledged the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with the committee to drive development programs.
He also confirmed that the ministry will collaborate with the GOC to complete the OlympAfrica Project located at Amasaman, a facility intended to promote grassroots sports and youth development.
The visit forms part of ongoing engagements between the government and key sporting bodies as authorities seek to strengthen infrastructure, improve athlete development, and enhance Ghana’s presence on the international sporting stage.
