Six GPL Stars Earn Call-Up in Queiroz’s Squad for Mexico Friendly
Head coach Carlos Queiroz has handed opportunities to six Ghana Premier League players in his squad for the upcoming international friendly against Mexico, underlining a renewed emphasis on domestic talent.
Leading the home-based contingent is Salim Adams, whose consistent performances have been central to Medeama SC’s impressive campaign. He is joined by Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions, Ebenezer Adade and Gidios Aseako of Dreams FC, as well as Razak Simpson, captain of Nations FC.
Also making the cut is goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi of Accra Hearts of Oak, completing a group that reflects Queiroz’s willingness to widen the selection pool beyond foreign-based players.
The inclusion of these domestic standouts offers them a significant platform to stake a claim for future national team roles, particularly with major competitions on the horizon. The Mexico friendly is expected to serve as a key assessment opportunity as the Black Stars technical team continues to evaluate options across all levels of Ghanaian football.
