Viktoria Plzen forward Prince Kwabena Adu says he is filled with pride and gratitude after earning his first caps for Ghana during the November international break, marking a significant milestone in his young career.

Adu featured for the Black Stars in their 2-0 loss to Japan before being entrusted with his first starting role in the narrow 1-0 defeat to South Korea. Despite the results, the 21-year-old caught the eye with his sharp movement, intelligent positioning, and smooth link-up play, offering a refreshing spark to Ghana’s attack.

He came close to capping his debut start with a memorable goal, having rounded the goalkeeper with a clever feint and finishing calmly, only for the effort to be chalked off for a tight offside call.

Reflecting on the experience, Adu shared a heartfelt message about what representing Ghana means to him.
“I had the incredible honour of making my debut for the Ghana national team. It is a moment I will carry with me forever. I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this journey: my family, coaches, teammates, friends, and all the fans who have believed in me. Representing the homeland of my parents fills me with immense pride, and wearing the Ghanaian colours is a privilege I will never take for granted,” he said.

Adu’s performances provide fresh attacking options for head coach Otto Addo as preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ghana will discover their opponents when the tournament draw is conducted on December 5, offering a clearer picture of the path that lies ahead for the emerging striker and his teammates.
