Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has disclosed that early discussions are underway to persuade in-form defender Samba O’Neil to switch his international allegiance to Ghana.

The Congolese centre-back has been a standout figure for the Porcupine Warriors this season, consistently delivering commanding performances at the heart of the defence. His impact was on full display on Wednesday, November 19, when he scored the match-winning goal against Young Apostles in their outstanding Week 6 Ghana Premier League fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.

With his impressive form catching attention, Zito believes O’Neil could be a valuable addition to Ghana’s national setup and has already begun engaging him on the possibility of a nationality switch.

Sharing his admiration for the defender after the match, the Kotoko boss remarked, “Samba O’niel is exceptional and I’ve started trying to convince him to switch nationality to Ghana.”
