Senegal national team head coach Aliou Cisse has opened up about the hunger he is currently suffering due to a delay in payment of salary.

At a press conference on Thursday, January 18, Aliou Cisse noted issues of delay in salary payment by the Senegalese Football Federation remain unresolved.

‘Have we been able to resolve this issue with the Senegalese Football Federation? A hungry coach sits in front of you, who heads the Senegal national team,’ Cisse was quoted as saying by RMC Sport.

It has been reported in the media previously that this is not the first time the FSF has failed to settle payments on time with the Lions of Teranga coach.

Cisse, a former footballer for the Senegalese national team took overthe top position in 2015.

Seven years later, he led the team to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title after winning the 2022 AFCON hosted in Cameroon.

Senegal is presently competing at the ongoing AFCON tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

They kicked off their Group C campaign with a 3-0 victory over Gambia.

Cisse and his team will look to build on that win when they face Cameroon today at 5pm local time in their second group C match, which takes place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro.
