Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities FC have parted ways with defender Michael Ampadu after three years.

After ending the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League, the right-back has opted to seek for a different challenge elsewhere, having had a successful three year spell. He leaves as a free agent after having contract expire.

Ampadu, 26, has been very phenomenal for the Capital-based outfit since joining them but believe it’s right time to depart having put much effort in making sure the Royals retain in the league next season.

Michael Ampadu played for Liberty Professionals for four seasons from 2016 to 2020 before joining Legon Cities in 2020 in the club’s bid to bolster their squad ahead of the 2020–21 Ghana Premier League season.

Following his exploits in the Ghana Premier league, Ampadu earned a call-up to the Ghana U23 national team in 2019.

He was called up into the team by Ibrahim Tanko and he played for Ghana during the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

It’s rumoured that Medeama SC have contacted him for his services but not concrete yet.
