Dreams FC captain John Antwi has described Sunday’s MTN FA Cup final as a demanding test, warning that his side cannot afford to underestimate Nations FC in the battle for domestic glory.

The two clubs will meet at the University of Ghana Stadium on May 31 in the final match of the 2025/26 domestic football season, with the winner claiming the prestigious trophy and a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite Dreams FC’s experience in major cup competitions, Antwi expects a fiercely contested encounter based on the teams’ previous meetings in the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking ahead of the decisive fixture, the veteran forward acknowledged the quality within the Nations FC squad and stressed the importance of preparation and teamwork.

“Looking at Nations FC I will say they have a very good team. We played them in the league. I think we played them twice and it was very difficult. So going into the final with them we need to be prepared very well, be focused and then play as a team to win the trophy,” Antwi said.

Dreams FC will be aiming to secure a second FA Cup title in the club’s history after their memorable triumph in the 2022/23 campaign, which eventually led to a remarkable run to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Antwi has played a central role in Dreams FC’s journey to the final this season and is expected to lead the attack once again as the club chases another major honour.

For Nations FC, the match offers an opportunity to end the season on a high note and secure continental football despite their recent relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

Kick-off for the highly anticipated final is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Legon Sports Stadium.
