Dreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon has set his sights on lifting the MTN FA Cup as the club prepares for a high-stakes final against Nations FC on Sunday.

The showdown, scheduled for the University of Ghana Stadium, offers more than domestic silverware, with the winners earning a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

For Dormon, the occasion presents an opportunity to complete a personal milestone. The former Dreams FC player was part of the technical team that guided the club to its maiden FA Cup triumph in the 2022/23 season, serving as assistant coach under Abdul Karim Zito.

That success paved the way for Dreams FC’s memorable run to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, one of the club’s greatest achievements on the continental stage.

Now leading the team as head coach, Dormon is eager to replicate that success from the dugout.

Reflecting on the club’s previous triumph, he recalled the significance of winning the competition and expressed his desire to add another chapter to the club’s history.

“We won it-the FA Cup- at Abrankese (Nations FC’s home venue) and it was very intriguing. The dynamics are very different now and I will be very happy to lead this group to win this competition,” Dormon said.

Dreams FC head into the final hoping to secure a second FA Cup title, while Nations FC will be chasing a historic first major trophy despite their recent relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

With continental football at stake, Sunday’s encounter promises to be one of the biggest fixtures of the Ghanaian football calendar.
