“I am capable of handling the Black Stars”- Ignatius Osei-Fosu
Ignatius Osei-Fosu, currently serving as the assistant coach for the Sudan national team, has expressed his readiness to take up the mantle of coaching Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, should the opportunity arise.
The Black Stars of Ghana failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025; losing to Sudan in Libya and drawing at home during the qualifiers.
Speaking in a recent interview, Osei-Fosu emphasized his willingness to learn from experienced football tactician Kwesi Appiah, who serves as Head Coach of the Sudanese national team.
“I think I need to learn more from Kwesi Appiah,” Osei Fosu stated. “But if he says, ‘Ignatius, you’ve been with me for one year now, and the Black Stars are calling you, I think you’re ready,’ I will take the job because tactically, I am capable of handling the Black Stars.” He told 3Sports.
Osei-Fosu’s declaration reflects his confidence in his abilities while acknowledging the importance of mentorship under Kwesi Appiah.
Ignatius Osei-Fosu is a former Black Starlets Assistant Coach. He is also a former Head Coach of Medeama SC, Dreams FC and Techiman Eleven Wonders.
