After a month-long suspension due to the tragic passing of Asante Kotoko fan Nana Pooley, the Ghana Premier League returns this weekend, with Hearts of Oak set to face Young Apostles on Saturday at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The venue, initially deemed unfit for use, has now been cleared following discussions between Hearts of Oak and the Club Licensing Board.

Hearts of Oak come into the game in impressive form, extending their unbeaten streak to six matches with a 1-0 victory over Hearts of Lions on January 31. Their defensive solidity has been a key factor, as they have kept four consecutive clean sheets, making them one of the league’s toughest teams to break down.

Adding to their confidence is their previous success against Young Apostles, having secured a 2-1 away win in October 2024.

However, Young Apostles are also in fine form, securing back-to-back victories against Nations FC and Nsoatreman before the break. They remain unbeaten in their last four games, although their defensive struggles persist, having conceded in each of their last three away fixtures.

So far, Hearts of Oak have won nine of their 19 matches, drawn six, and lost four.

Young Apostles, on the other hand, have played the same number of matches, recording six wins, six draws, and seven defeats

With both teams in strong form, this promises to be a fiercely contested clash. Hearts of Oak will be eager to extend their unbeaten run, while Young Apostles will be aiming to cause an upset away from home.
