Ghana Premier League 2026/27 Fixtures Released as Champions Medeama Face Tough Start
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially released the fixture list for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, unveiling an exciting schedule that promises intense rivalries, compelling storylines and a highly competitive race for the title.
Defending champions Medeama SC will begin their quest to retain the league crown with a demanding away fixture against Dreams FC, while last season’s runners-up Bibiani Gold Stars also face a challenging start as they travel to Bechem United.
The opening round features several mouthwatering encounters, including a historic moment for newly promoted Debibi United FC, who will make their Ghana Premier League debut at home against record champions Asante Kotoko SC.
Another landmark fixture will see fellow newcomers Port City FC welcome FC AshantiGold 04 in the first-ever top-flight meeting between the two newly promoted clubs.
Hearts of Oak will launch their campaign in front of their home supporters in Accra when they host Berekum Chelsea, with the Phobians hoping to mount a serious challenge for the championship after falling short in recent seasons.
Basake Holy Stars will also enjoy home advantage on the opening weekend as they take on Swedru All Blacks in what is expected to be a closely contested affair.
Elsewhere, Vision FC welcome Young Apostles, FC Samartex 1996 host Karela United in Samreboi, while Aduana FC begin their campaign on the road with a trip to Kpando to face Heart of Lions.
The fixture release gives all 18 clubs the opportunity to begin detailed planning for the season, including travel arrangements, logistical preparations and tactical planning ahead of the opening weekend.
